So I’m driving to work today for a meeting listening to Brian Tracy (a motivational speaker / psychologist) and am hearing him talk about personal power.
That when you are worrying or thinking about negative things, its like driving with the emergency break on.
You cant speed up fast, and when you slow down you come to almost an immediate stop.
However, once we take that emergency break off, we take off.
You know, the older you get the more things get taken from you. But thats life.
It’s all about doing the right thing. And the right thing in every case is forgiving often, moving on with your life, and taking personal responsibility for your emotions and what happens in your life.
One of the hardest things to do is to say to yourself “I am responsible” when bad things happen. Maybe it wasn’t completely your fault, but you are responsible for how to react to something and what you do after that moment.
When you take responsibility, you give yourself so much personal power.
You have the ability to do whatever you want in the world with confidence and courage.
So why The Little Things?
I am reading this book right now called Tipping Point, which is all about how the littlest things can make the biggest differences.
It’s amazing to think how the smallest things in life can cause such monumental change. So when you looking to make a difference in your life, you don’t have to fix huge things, just fix the little things.
The little things will add up and help you change more than you can imagine.
I finally talked to one of my best friends AJ after months and months when he left the store. It was so good to just catch up with him again, but more importantly to just laugh like we used to.
It’s funny that even when you don’t talk for months, you can just pick up right where you were before. It just made me feel so good inside.
The best part of life is being able to take your world and do whatever you want with it.
There is nothing in this world that you cannot do. You want to be someone, do something, change something, you can just go out and do it.
That’s whats beautiful about every second that you have. You can make decisions, you can take the cards you’ve been dealt and flip them.
Nothing really is standing in your way. The only thing standing in your way of being a hero is you.
So go out. Be a hero.
Do what you’ve been dreaming of.
No one will stop you from it.
