The Tiny Details Matter
Posted on July 7, 2012
Go ahead and sweat the details. The smallest things are the most important? Think not? Try writing your life story with the end result and none of the journey in between. Because you can’t get to where you want to if you do not focus on the present. Goals are great. They can drive you to accomplish fantastic things. However, if you fail to see what is important in the present moment, you will never accomplish you goals. Everything in this world has a negative side effect if you use it wrong. Goals can be one of those things. So sweat the details because that is where the true accomplishments are. You can finish something with pride and with confidence if you know that you took every single step the way that truly represents you and what you believe in.
People are going to give you advice on everything. They will give you advice on your writing, on your life, on your path, on your regimen, on your….everything. I always think that listening to what people have to say is incredibly important, but eventually you have to take what you hear and transform it into something that is relevant to you. Because there is no specific piece of advice catered to you…it is all coming from a different perspective. Equally, there are all sorts of different perspectives out there. Mine, is just one. I will never tell anyone that my way is the right way, it is just a way. It is a way that is working out for me and hopefully you can take something that I have learned and put it into your own words. Because we all have things that are incredibly relevant to us and then absolutely something we can’t even fathom. It’s perfectly okay, there is no right path for a specific person.
Don’t be the guy above, unless you really like wearing your underwear on the outside of your pants, then by all means go for it! But if your going to do that, then wear them with a purpose. I always try to do things with specific intent. Of course it is coming from a good place and not a malicious one. Show the people around you that you care, tell them that you care, and then give them a reason to believe you. I always write this, but I have found it to be one of the absolute truths in life. If you forget everything that people say and just watch what they do, you will see the truth in them. Actions speak far louder than words. Never tell someone you have a surprise for them, just have it.
What is amazing about life is that in every single moment in every single day, you have an opportunity to switch it all around. You can do absolutely anything you want with your day. Make the most of this moment, and don’t forget to sweat the details.
The Better Man Project
Over the last two years I have been learning to really love the details. There is something to be said for a life lived slowly, constantly and intentionally.

Very Good Wring Evan 🙂
I agree. I like details that stick with you in things I read. They make the story world real.
Yes, yes, and yes. U are absolutely correct. Some times we tend to run head first into some thing without sweating it out, and as usual, the results are catastrophic.
Once again, a hummer post. Excellent.
