I have listened to a lot of talks, speeches, and read a handful of books on the topic of why some people get through unbelievable turmoil and why others stay stuck in it. It all comes down to this: decision. If you have the ability to decide for yourself and believe in your decision then you will overcome. You don’t have to know exactly where you are going, you don’t to have all the resources in the world, you don’t have to be fearless…you just have to decide that whatever is going on around you…isn’t what you are or who you want to become. But there needs to be something behind that decision.

Force of action. Without action you are a stick in the mud. It is the easiest thing in the world to tell everyone you are going to do something, and then not do it. That takes absolutely zero effort. What can be excruciating though is breaking bad habits. There is a reason why they are habits in the first place, and by god the bad ones are hard to break. But if you have to kick and scream…then do it. Use everything at your disposal. But do not give in to temptation when you are at your weakest point. That is where many of us get caught. When we are down and out, we just go right back to where we were. I think, the most crucial time to act in accordance to what you said is during these times. You let the world and yourself know that you are on to something better. You are waking up.

My challenge to you today is to decide. Decide that you are going to do this. The thing is, decide that there is no option but success. That will make you go all in. And why would you sit at life’s table just trying to win little bits here and there. Boring. I would rather go all in on something big and give myself the chance to succeed, than live a life of mediocrity. When you know you have a good hand and you are prepared, take the chance.

Don’t live your life in regret wondering what could have been.
