One of the best pieces of advice I have ever been given, in regards to going for a goal or dream, is to know exactly the reasons for why you are doing it, and what you are not doing it for. To be honest, I had a pretty interesting night last night. I read through some old messages I had kept in my FB inbox…and it put me in a very interesting mood. I had listed out all the reasons why I was creating this book, but these messages reminded me of something else very important. They made me think…and it inspired me to write the following piece.
Why Am I doing this? I am doing this because I want to change the world. I want to meet the people everyone out there who reads along with me. I want to have the means to live the type of life I would love to live. I want to speak in front of people. I want to stand for people living powerful and impassioned lives. I want to make people smile. I want to stand as an example that with some love, passion, and a never quitting attitude, you can do anything you want. I want to spread love not hate. I want to help turn this ship around. I want to continue working on becoming a better man each and every day.
I want to support other people who have big dreams. I want to set my goals even higher than before, and continue to go out and crush them. I want to walk the dirt roads in Africa with little children. I want to sit down with the oldest people in the world and hear their stories. I want to record these stories, and give them to the world. I want to stand for an idea. I want to wake up halfway across the world and be excited about traveling somewhere new. I want to touch the hearts of others. I want to let people know that it is okay to be scared, and to move past that fear. I want people to know that there are others out there, who truly believe deep down in their bones that people are good…they just need some time to show it.
And while the list goes on, of all the positive things I am doing it for…I am also doing it for those who ignore me, who laugh at my dreams, who take advantage of my love, and who leave without even hesitating. This is not out of spite, or anger, or hate…but some much more profound. It is about this. No one deserves to be treated like a dirty penny on a busy street. Every single person out there has so much to offer, and so much love to give. I am not taking a stand against anything. Rather, I am taking a stand for those who do treat people right…who love you like crazy and give you the permission to love them as much right back. These are the lights in our world. And hopefully, if I continue to work as hard as I can, and if the people spread the word of passion around, there will be many more lights in this world.

That was beautifully inspiring. I love that you really looked deep into the why. What a good lesson in life. I, too, want all those things you write of. Thank you for a great post and lesson of the day.
great post… simply awesome!
You are pure awesomeness and very inspiring. Great post!
Wonderful post. All of us can have a life more meaningful when we direct ourselves to be more self-less. If you set your feet to this journey, your light will surely attract good people. I admire you.
Wow. No coincidences right? We agree on that one? You have the same dreams and golas as I have. I put these things in words a bit differently as I wrote them and they are almost the same. Good to hear that others are thinking like myself and that I am not alone. Three years ago when I bebun that journey I thought I was alone and couldn’t think of a way to tell these to people as they would look strange when I talked this to to them, but in time people started coming into my life, virtualy and phisicaly and now I know that I am not alone on this one. Good to know you. Keep on the good work.

I really like that – it’s good to know why we are doing things in our life 🙂 Enjoy
This reminds me of something from days long gone by. I am old enough to remember when most Americans thought this way; sadly, now it is just a few brave souls. Although, with the help of messages like this, there will be many more. (And thanks for visiting my quiet little sonnet blog.)
Dream on, Dream big

“No one deserves to be treated like a dirty penny on a busy street.” Love this!
I’m loving your blog. Thanks so much for following.
“I want to support other people who have big dreams.” I think it is a contagious thing to live your life in the pursuit of our dreams and goals, to other people who have the same mindset. I know you want to be happy, and that being happy to you includes helping other people be happy too. That to me is being human. It’s wonderful. Thank you for what you are doing.
All I can really say is Thank you for writing this.
Right on!

Once again, a “reblog” from one of my favs.
You must have a clear understanding of what and who you are pursuing your dreams for. a lot of people struggle with this but you are very aware of your mission. Love this !
Very inspiring!
I love posts like this. You’re spreading good karma all over the world because everyone who reads this will feel that same good karma and want to spread it some more.

It sounds like you have a very strong “WHY”. That WHY is what keeps people pushing forward and motivates them to reach their goals. Congrats on being so connected with your WHY.
