When you are getting ready for something new, you have to be careful to not attach it to something old, because you will ruin the integrity of both things.

When things are new, you have to understand that things are going to go through changes. It is going to be flexible, twisting and turning, and have great pressure points in some places.

Along this road of great change, you have to understand that you have to be willing to morph with it. When you bring your old experiences into something completely new, you fail to appreciate the beauty of what you are in.

This is a crime, and I feel like it happens to a lot of people (myself included). We toe the water instead of jumping off the deck. Commitment comes to mind. The ability to go full-fledged into something and without a doubt in your mind be committed to the new experience.

I can’t tell you how many times I have done this! But I think I have figured it out. It is not about knowing everything. It is about jumping off the cliff..and building your wings on the way down. If you focus too much on the jump, you will build your wings too late.

Something I also want to talk to you about is when people have a problem with what you are doing.

What I am trying to say is that when people have problem with you, it is because you are bringing a new message, and those who are listening to you are so set in their ideals and thoughts that it would break their mind to even consider that the new message could be the way.

It’s about being able to look at a situation and understand that there might be a discrepancy between the reality, and what you perceived it to be. This is one of the greatest lessons I have learned throughout the past year.

We all walk with specific goggles on (our past experience) and see things through certain lenses. However, when we change our world view and remove these goggles, we are able to see a whole different experience.

This is a gift.

The gift of being able to see clearly. How can you do this?

You have to reconsider everything you have learned in the past and have the courage to think that it may be skewed. When you start doing this, you attain the ability to even look in a situation that is currently happening…and completely change your view. This is something I have and am practicing a lot.

Why do things not change? We have faith in the wrong thing.

It cannot be in the day of the week or on a specific day of the year. Your faith has to be in something bigger and more than you. You have to put your faith in a vision.

What you are out to accomplish in the world…can drive you to do things that reflect that vision. Every single day is an opportunity to create new experiences. Do not waste these opportunities…maximize the moments you are in.

The hard experiences in life give you perspective and appreciation for life. Commitment comes out of this.

There are some things I cannot afford to allow to bother me because it is wasting my time! We sometimes get caught in a situation or a problem that shouldn’t capture any of our attention. We have to realize that we are wasting precious time and move forward.

Do not waste your time trying to explain to your enemies who and what you are…because you are wasting your energy and more importantly, wasting a blessing. When you travel down a different path than everyone else, people are going to naturally not like you or even hate you for whatever reason.

That is not a reflection of your character, but rather theirs. There is a great quote that I am going to paraphrase that says that in the beginning of the journey, you will be disliked and talked down upon by others. However, once you achieve greatness, they will come to you for advice.

Keep trucking. It will be all worth it. Every single day you have the option to lend your energy to specific things. You do not have time to lend yourself to the foolishness.

I never want to look back and say that I would want to do it over again. I do not want to look back and say that I didn’t do what I wanted to do. I am going to capture this moment. Make each moment special and unique.

I want to go out with all engines burning.

There is no need to have a new day if you are going to go into it with an old mind.

Start fresh.
