Every single second beyond the one you just experienced, is an opportunity. Every single day you have the opportunity to recreate yourself. Tomorrow doesn’t matter in the slightest. Yeah, it may mean something to someone else because that is as far as they know you, but you literally can be a different person each day if you wished to. You could, be unpredictable, original, unstoppable. But, transforming yourself each day would be completely unrealistic. People would have no idea if they could depend on you, so instead, just be the best you can possibly be. Be the best version of you there is. Of course there will need to be changes along the way, but if you yell out to the world that this is your time and this is who you’re going to be…no one out there is going to stop you.

I had someone sit down with me and they were concerned about how hard I am on myself in regards to integrity and other situations. It wasn’t that the message was “you should be less hard on yourself” but it was more along the lines of “you are going to make mistakes, so don’t be too tough on you.” I completely agree with this. Of course I am going to make mistakes. That is just a natural part of life and I truly do accept mistakes as great learning experiences. But if I break my word to myself or to others, I am going to be hard on myself about it. Not like getting all sad and depressed about doing it, but I will do anything to correct the situation. I am hard on myself because I have these big dreams and huge goals, and to achieve those goals and dreams I have to break out of some bad habits that have accumulated over time. It all really comes down to this. Accountability and Integrity. Be accountable for your actions…they are yours and yours only. Have integrity with your word. If you say you are going to do something, you do it. It doesn’t matter how had it is. It doesn’t matter if you are close enough to quit early. Follow through 100%. You start it. You finish it. No excuses.

On to the next one. Go accomplish something and then go accomplish something else. There is this great old commercial of famous running back Emmet Smith bench pressing after he just won the Superbowl. He says something along the lines of “I won a Super Bowl, now I can rest.” Sits down for two seconds, and then just pumps out about 325lbs. The attitude is right. I did something great, now watch the next great thing I am going to do. Nothing is stopping you from going out into the world and doing something amazing. You can do anything you want to do. But you have to believe that you can. Society will tell you to do this or that, but if you listen to yourself and you trust yourself, you can turn your life into one that would even make you jealous.

All the motivation you need is right inside of you. It is great to see how many people write about motivation and put their perspective out there. I know what it is like to get stuck in a rut sometimes, and once you start trusting yourself and listening to the voice inside you saying ‘I can do it I can do it” there is no stopping you. Go achieve something great today. And just remember…on to the next one.
