A warrior does not give up what he loves. He finds the love in what he does. A warrior is not about perfection, or victory, or invulnerability. He is about absolute vulnerability. That is the only true courage. – Peaceful Warrior
The Past 5 Weeks
Simply put, I have been living so much in the present that I have really had much time to think about writing.
Something else that was coming up for me was the need to completely clear my mind and if I was going to write, to write about what is going on right now.
Right now, I am living a life powerfully and a life I love.
I have been putting my favorite motivational videos from youtube into audio form and sticking them on my iPod.
So when I walk to class every day, I hear great people in my ear. Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, and others. But there is this one speech by a man who I have no idea who he is, but he talks about productivity and how people spend their entire life looking for this secret to success. In short, the secret to success only lies within this one small formula. 100% effort + time allotted = success.
This has been driving me every single day. It doesn’t really matter what you are doing, but going through the motions is the most disadvantageous thing you can do. Because when you do something wrong the first time, you end up having to go back and do it again.
So putting your heart and your soul into every single task you do is one of the most important things you can do in your life. It doesn’t matter what it is. Washing the dishes, working on school, taking the dog for a walk.
What this also does for you is that it completely brings you into the present. If you are focusing 100% on the task you are trying to accomplish, you will be in the here and now.
Here is something I also hear every day.
Where are you? – Here
What time is it? – Now
Who are you? – This moment
I have started P90x. In the past, my resolve was fading with the program. It had nothing to do with the actual program itself, it had to do with my integrity with my word. When I said I would do something, it would maybe happen.
I started yesterday, and I put my heart into it. Today, Im going to put my heart into it again. I realized that I can manipulate the program a bit because of my knee. And that brings up another great point about life. Just because something is working for someone else doesn’t mean that is your formula.
You have to be able to tweak and change little things that will give you the best results. I cannot do jumping etc on my knee, but I can definitely do the hour of core work in Core Synergistics.
Every day, no matter where I am, I will be doing P90x. It doesn’t matter the situation, I will make time for it. I have also gone vegetarian.
I watched this amazing documentary called Forks over Knives, and I won’t push my views on you about what you should do with your life, but I would take what they have to say into consideration.
Believe.
Believe in yourself.
Believe in everything you do.
Believe that you can be someone great.
One of the only certain laws in the universe is the Law of Attraction. What you think about, is what you will receive. Along with this is the Law of Cause and Effect. You become what your view of the world is.
The only way to get different effects is to change your view. That is the only way you can transform your life. Declaring into a space of emptiness every day what you are committed to and who you will be that day.
Because yesterday doesn’t matter, and tomorrow certainly shouldn’t be on your mind. Who you are today will define you for every single moment on after this moment, right now.
The most powerful thing I have seen over the past few months is watching people declare things into their lives that they don’t know how to accomplish, but want badly.
The amazing part about this is that they end up finding creative ways to accomplish this task. It’s not that they change themselves, but they transform the way they are thinking and therefore bring new actions, and consequently new results.
I cannot tell you how inspired I am by watching this growth.
So this leads me to me and you.
You’re looking at this screen reading away at the letters on the page, and I am writing them as we speak. I can’t tell you the comfort it gives me to be able to write 100% in the present.
I feel different as my fingers patter away at the keys.
There is a sense of comfort, something that has been displaced for a while.
I welcome this back into my life.
