Bucket List Ideas

The Bucket List Ideas 2014

So what is the story behind bucket list ideas? Well first of all, most bucket lists are life long goals and events that people want to achieve before they die. I decided to change things up a bit and turn my list into a yearly list of goals that I would like to accomplish. It was a teacher who told me a long time ago that you should live each day as if you were going to die at the end of the year. So I took that advice and turned what some typically want to do before they die, oh in like 40-50 years, and create a yearly bucket list.

A Bucket List should inspire you

It’s not there to intimidate you. You should want to cross everything off of that bucket list! Post this list to your wall and make sure you can see it every single day!

What I have also done is print out this list and put it in a binder that I look at every single morning before I start work. This keeps my goals in mind and allows me to stay focused on what I have committed to. So I hope you enjoy reading the list! I am sure that it is going to develop throughout 2014. Oh, and I have started this December 12, 2013 just for reference.

this is a SERIOUS list… how are the ‘every day’ ones going so far? You say it’s a 2012 Bucket list, so does that mean you’ve made this ‘before I die’ list in 2012, or are you trying to do all of these things in 2012?

Since you want to use the team beachbody site more they have a feature where you can add each other as buddies and log your workouts. You could also blog about it (doesn’t have to be extensive just enough to stay accountable). There’s a blog on your team beachbody account for such a purpose if you want to use it.

I am starting Week 3 of Insanity today and planning to do P90X when I finish it after a week of lighter work. If I’m counting correctly I believe it would be March 4th (the first Monday in March) that I’d be starting it. Probably not going to line up with yours schedules but if you need extra accountability help I’m phoenixxphyre on team beachbody.

I have a suggestion for becoming a better man….SERVE. Your bucket list is incredible and filled with all sorts of personal goals and disciplines but the best men (and women ) I know who become people of character and integrity are people who are OTHER centered. They often become that way by giving with no thought of anything in return. Serve at a meal kitchen for the poor, paint a house with Habitat…there are so many opportunities and you will meet life changing people!

Also, Arnold used to always ski at Sun Valley in Idaho. You might want to go there…a friend of mine met him there. We used to always see his HumVee driving around.

That’s quite a list. For the Read 52 books I would suggest getting a Kindle or using their free apps (they have them for mobile, iPad, and PC). There are a ton of books that are free on there (mostly classics but a lot of people do promotions for their books free for a certain period of time as a promotion).

I have not used the beachbody site as much as I should myself and need to do that more this year.

Ah…the data man in me comes forth. 64 items divided by the 12 months of the year (assuming you jumped out of bed on Jan. 1 and the clock was ticking) means you need, on average, to tick off 1 item every 5.3 days. You are the man…but in all seriousness…best wishes…it is INSANELY great to have a plan and then see it unfold. Running across America taught me the outlandish, incredibly stupid joy of accomplishing a goal beyond what you ever thought possible…be eincouraged.

11 – Go to a public market for produce, eggs, and cheeses. Go to a meat market or whole sale store for, obviously, meat. Buy it in bulk and freeze what you don’t use. Plan out weekly meals that use many of the same ingrediants… you can easily do it for under $50.

    14 & 15 – You should start doing yoga.

I like your bucket list. It’s impressively ambitious. Glad to hear you’ve already achieved some of these goals.

I’m curious – do you have the goals broken down into step-by-step plans. A book I’m reading at the moment ‘Success is Not An Accident’ by Tommy Newberry, suggests people have a personal mission statement, 30-year long-term goals, three year goals, 90-day milestones & 90-day strategy, a weekly master list, and daily habits & to-do lists. If you see it as an inverted pyramid, your daily habits/actions feed into into each successive layer, eventually contributing to you achieving your long-term goals. Love the strategic approach to this, but I realise it may not suit everyone.

All the best for your adventures. And thanks for following my http://exhortcommunication.wordpress.com blog

Hi Evan! Thank you for choosing to follow one of my blogs (http://threedailydelights.wordpress.com/) – I really appreciate it!

I’m also doing a bucket list (101 items in 1001 days); if you’d like to read about it, you can do so here: http://smilekiddo.wordpress.com/101-in-1001/

Big congrats to you as you strive to be a better man – the world needs lots of people looking to do better with their lives. Fantastic that you are helping to create that change. 🙂

I am looking for new challenges to help me with my 52-week challenge so this has given me some food for thought (don’t think I will be opting for 18″ arms or 600 crunches a day though!). If you are looking for some more inspiration for your buket list you can check out my list http://challengechanger.wordpress.com/bucket-list-tick/ I look forward to hearing more about your journey to be a better man. One of my bucket list items before I hit 40 next year was to complete a Tough Mudder. I checked it off this month and plan on doing another before next summer. It was such an amazing, challenging experience.

please can you tell me (because I am british – perhaps you are two but it seems to crop up in people from accross the pond) what/ where exactly does the term ‘bucket’ come from or mean. you are the second person i have come accross using it and although I get a sense that it might mean catergory or something… to me it means a ‘bucket’ of water. thanking you in anticipation.

    • Reply
      January 18, 2013 at 12:42 pm

The term bucket list came from “kicking the bucket” which means dying. The ‘bucket’ part came from something pretty morose, a technique in which people would take themselves out. Stand on a bucket and hang. However, as time went on…the bucket list stood for all the things you want to do before you die.

I took that concept and turned it into a yearly bucket list of all the things I wanted to do for that year…as if this was my last year so to speak. Make sense? 🙂

Apologies for the brutal description at the beginning haha.

That’s quite the list you’ve got there! I’m afraid I’m going to have to nickname you “red”. In my head anyway. I hope you don’t mind.

It seems we have a similar outlook on life, and I’m going to guess life experiences (based on what I’ve read so far). I look forward to following you. Thanks so much for following me. You give me hope that what I see in my head is attainable.

The list is a great melange of goals. Author Beverly East recently told me that she (re)named her list, “Fab Things to Do” – she liked the upbeat, open-ended tone. I wonder what other folks call their dream lists? My list includes getting folks to stop by my blog (enjoytheread.wordpress.com), so thanks for doing that!

Your list is super inspiring. I triggered in me awe as well as discomfort. Things are different when they are placed on paper. I think today I will make a bucket list of my own. Thanks for your lead as well as for your limitless desires : )

To #16 on Things You Will Do: If you haven’t already, check out ACX.com. If you want to find someone else to do the narration/production of your audiobook, this is the place to do that. And if you plan on narrating/producing it yourself, it can give you a clear sense of what the industry standards are for production.

I have a bucket list for 2013 on my blog as well, but I never thought of putting people on it. I love that you have Tony Horton as one of those people.I’ve done P90X twice and am currently working my way through P90X2. I would love to meet him as well. Great blog. I’m glad that I stumbled upon you.

You realize that its half way through the year and you have quite a bit to go! If I were you I would break down the bucket list into weekly things you could achieve.

    I hope this helps.

First of all, thanks for following my blog. I have just looked at you and what you want to achieve, and I’d like to firstly wish you the best if this truly matters to you. In my life, I’ve travelled to many parts of the world and ‘achieved’ what the world thinks is ‘great’, ‘awesome’ even, but I realised, that I’d never been to me. I know that sounds clichéd, and I’m not here to give you a lecture, or a downer, but seriously my friend, you are good enough just as you are. Tomorrow does NOT exist! Please live for today, it’s all you have and it’s all that is real x x x
