Waste absolutely no time worrying about the problem. Right? “Oh god this went wrong…Oh no I don’t know what to do?!” Waste no time worrying. Waste no time squabbling. Waste no time with pessimism. It doesn’t fix and it doesn’t solve the problem in front of you.
If you want to be a true leader when everyone else is panicking about something, you are looking for how to move forward – you are optimistic. You’re going, “This is it’s not a problem…this is a situation.”
There are no problems… there are just situations that are in front of you that you have to deal with and when you can be fluid and when you can solve these things strategically and tactically and you can use your intuition and your skills and you can say, “Okay this way” you are a true leader.
Everyone else is panicking and they don’t know what to do… “Oh my god oh my god oh my god this didn’t go the way that we thought it should!” but you know as a leader that things rarely go the way that they think they should go.
Things always go differently. They don’t always go exactly according to plan…but you have to be willing to adjust. You have to adjust to that reality because it is the reality that no matter how much you plan you cannot figure out what’s going to happen in the future.
So the ability for you to go “Okay this is what’s in front of us and here’s what we’re going to do” is a huge huge huge core of what it means to be a leader in this world. To be able to lead other people, to be able to lead a business, is to not lose your cool especially when the heat is up.
Stay cool. Stay calm. Stay collected. Look to see what pieces you have in front of you. What skills do you have? What people do you have? How can you maneuver them into positions where they can be successful and then create a plan and then attack that plan.
Life is not going to go the way that you think it should. That is part about living. That’s a natural law – we don’t know what’s going to happen in the great mystery of the future. But if you show up into the future trusting yourself being equipped with what you’ve got, not losing your cool, not losing your head, you’re going to be able to respond to the unexpected in much much much much much wiser and more strategic ways.
So always keep your cool always see things as just situations. Always create plans to continue moving forward but don’t waste any time on the negative emotions and the negative thoughts that don’t serve you. Keep it positive up here (in the mind) and you will create the path that you’re supposed to travel.
