The Better Man Project

Simple but Significant (IX)

%inspirational quotes

It’s deep inside of you,
Your true potential,
Putting it all on paper,
Is quite the feat.

But staring at your vision,
Can light a fire within you,
And all you have to decide,
Is if you wish to compete.

What is it that you yearn for? What is stopping you?
Most of the time, the only barrier that’s truly there

    Continued success –
At the moment I compete mostly with myself.
The soul fire is, at the moment, for me, enough. :)

This is why I envy the poet: able to use a very few, carefully selected words to such great effect.

One of my favorite quotes is “When you pray, move your feet!” (African Proverb). Envision, believe, and most importantly, Act!! You are an inspiring example of someone who excels at all three! :)

This is so true. I have a page in one of my notebooks that looks something like this. It is no small feat to get it all out of your heart and mind and into the real world on paper! Nice work.

Okay, so here’s the thing. I lived most of my life leaning on my enormous potential, waiting to see who I wanted to be. Then, thankfully, I put all that aside. I no longer even know what “my potential” means. If it means who I might become, or what I might have done, it’s about a world that will never exist, an imaginary world.

Each moment that I live with presence and strength is a magnificent moment. What comes out of that moment, what “achievement” results, doesn’t matter. It will be right and good simply because I am engaged fully in living in that moment- holding nothing back from life.

But maybe this is the message here. To set aside the imaginings and get on with the living.

Thanks for the provocative post on this cold winter afternoon.

Each and every moment we are being our potential, it is simple when we are the best we can be in that moment.
