Day (372) – Something Better

%inspirational quotes

I thought I would post this because I want to change how things are done. I want to reinvent the game and I think I have something that will help everyone if you will jump on board with it. Tons and tons of people are going to make New Years Resolutions in the next few days, but 90+ % of them are going to fail. Not too many people are asking why? Everyone knows why they fail, not too many people are doing something about it. I myself have failed many times at certain resolutions, but I think I have an answer for how I am going to go about it this year. And the answer was in something that I have been doing every single day for years now. Maybe, subconsciously, I was going after what I had written down all those days ago.

The Daily Resolution.

This is something that have been doing for years now, and as time has gone on, I have added more and more resolutions to my daily task list. Because in pure truth, all you have is today. When you start throwing down things on list…there is that temptation to always say tomorrow. I have fallen victim to this and it tears your resolutions apart. You have no shot. It’s not that you are sabotaging your goals, it’s time that is directly ruining your dreams. Now, to a certain extent, you have to want it in your bones. You have to want it bad. But you have to fight like hell to stay in the present moment. To focus on daily goals. It’s really nice to write down where you are going in the future…1 year…5 years…10 years…but its all hodgepodge if you don’t start doing something about it today. So split it up into daily goals…things that will push you and help you get to where you want to get.

I will be writing down each of my daily resolutions this year, starting the day after Christmas, and next year I will compile a list of everything I had accomplished. To me, this list will be a lot bigger than my Bucket List for 2013. But this is how you have to live your life. You have to chip chip chip away at what you want. Create the plan and then work the plan.

If you can dream it up in your head…you can achieve it. I promise you.

This is one of my favorite quotes of all time! Its in a movie I watched called “The Secret”. It is sort of an inspirational documentary about life. And how to achieve anything you want. SO AMAZING! If you have not seen it or heard of it, google it. THE SECRET. It gives you a sense of power and control over your life. And for being only 18, It taught me more about life that most people that have been alive for 80 years!

Agreed. In fact, I was going to write a post similar to yours. I really don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. I believe we have to practice self-improvement one day at a time — some days are better than others which makes it easier to improve oneself one day at a time — not all at once according to the calendar.

    Thank you for posting,

Great advice! Reminds me of “quit smoking”…Which really is “quit quitting”.
Or as my Uncle used to say; “you’ve got the talking part done”…I quit smoking 33 years ago..An hour at a time…Stay in the present, and fight like hell…Never mind tommorow.
